today a group arrived at the camp where we work. it's a group of kids that come from foster care and abusive situations. the counselors with them had to go through a big application and traing process, and are all around the most quality people i've ever met. they got here before the kids, madking huge posters with each kid's name on them, welcoming them to camp. i was lucky enough to be around when all the campers arrived. all the kids lined up inside the bus, and were announced by name as they came out. the counselor announcing them had this great big loud voice, too. it was awesome. when they walked out and their name was shouted, each were individually welcomed with a thunderous applause from all their counselors.

i've never seen anything like it in my life.

i sat there and watched with tears pouring down my face. i've never seen such a blatant display of love before. it changed me. i've never seen such obvious grace.

i hope that image never leaves my mind. i don't want to forget it. i understand God a little more now than i did when i woke up this morning.
