Former Golden Bell Staff Guide to Drying Clothes
This post is for all of you former Golden Bell Camp staff out there who might find yourself in the predicament of having your dryer go out. Don't stress, folks, it'll be alright. I'll guide you through it. First, what you need to do is think to yourself, "Mmmm, what do I have around the house that could be used as a clothesline?" You'll soon realize that you have two really long pieces of webbing tha
t you bought from REI while inthralled with the finer arts of climbing, rappelling, and slacklining. So all you need to do is grab these seldom-used pieces of webbing and find yourself a nice place outside to tie them up. I find that using some string, cable, or carabiners work well for tying up your webbing clothesline (Side note: If you don't have webbing, I've found that a dog chain will work in a pinch, too). You might soon wonder which of your many climbing knot
s you had to memorize to use for fastening the webbing to the tree, house, or fence. You can't go wrong with the waterknot, staff. Ask yourself, "What would Kent McLhny do? The waterknot is the obvious choice. Your last step is just simply make it happen. Hang those clothes, guys, hang those clothes. Who needs a dryer, anyway? Not when you're a former Golden Beller.

Fiber, my new best friend
Sherry has got me eating healthy. It's all fiber in our house. Let me give you a run-down on what I've had to eat the last few days.
Dinner Last Night: BBQ sandwiches with flax seed bread. Yes, you heard me right, flax seed bread. Nasty
Breakfast: Fiber One cereal ("Oh honey you'll love it, it tastes just like Honey Bunches of Oats") Not true.
Lunch: EasyMac (Sherry wasn't home, so I got to eat real food), and an apple.
Snack: Fiber One granola bar (These are actually pretty good). 20 oz coffee while I was out, too.
Dinner: Chicken with whole wheat organic-y pasta. Berries on the side.
I thought the whole idea from her book was to be "deceptively delicious," but there's not a whole lot of deception going on, to tell you the truth. It seems that in recent days there is more going out than coming in. I've lost like 10 lbs and wasn't even trying.

trying to process
i'm not a very committed blogger and in recent days i have avoided writing anything new because of all that has happened in the last week. going back to loveland for the funeral was a very unexpected venture for everyone. i don't know how to process through my thoughts about dan, the brothers, and the church community there. i still don't know what to think or how to feel. to be quite honest i'm so confused and have more questions each day and no answers to go with them. the only resolution my heart has come to is that maybe we don't need to know answers. maybe there aren't any. i guess that will have to suffice.the hardest part for me is to put myself into the brother's shoes. i love you guys and can't possibly feel the way you must feel. i'm so sorry and wish there was something we could do to lessen the
pain. i'm just glad to know you and for what it's worth to walk next to you, even if we all live so far apart. you guys are my friends and i love you all. that will never change. seeing God's church come together like it did last week showed me that there's a lot of love out there.thanks for being who you were, dan, and not trying to be anyone else. i think we're all striving to follow your example. you were about as real as they come. thanks for that.
thanks for that.
